To everyone who came out to see the debut show last Friday…

…you made the show as fun and powerful as it was!

A lot of non-Latinx attendees asked absolutely necessary questions like “how can we better amplify the voices of Latinx communities?” and showed that they were willing to start the work of allyship if they hadn’t already. Some of the photographed individuals also attended and shared that they felt proud and even liberated from the shame they had faced when attempting to share their stories in other spaces, which felt super rewarding.  If you couldn’t make it out, here are some of my favorite photos from the show.

I’m not sure when or where I’ll be sharing the photos again, but y’all will be the first ones to know! In the meantime, please be an ally to the community in other ways – consider donating to/ volunteering at Johns Hopkins Centro SOL, which is an organization that advocates for equity in health for Latinxs and was one of the co-sponsors of the show.  Contact them at centrosol@jhmi.edu and check out their website for more information on how you can get involved! https://www.jhcentrosol.org/
